Cat/Dog assistant coordinator applicants

KPA! is growing and the demand from the county is growing as well.  In order to keep expanding and helping our area pets, shelter animals and educating the public we need to add to our UN-paid staff. (paid in laughs, pets, fur baby kisses and satisfaction of knowing you are helping the community)   Our KPA! team is seeking an Assistant Cat Coordinator and an Assistant Dog Coordinator.  If you, or someone you know, (even if they’re currently not part of KPA!), may be interested, please review the attached “job” description(s) and contact Tara with inquiries at Tara.Legenza@gmail.com.

***Please note, these capacities do require a minimum of 15 hours  of your time and commitment weekly and it’s a strong possibility it will be more than that.

Kerrville Pets Alive! History

KPA! Was formed in 2019 following a community meeting where Kerr County residents expressed concern over the large number of animals that were being euthanized at our county shelter, Kerr County Animal Services.

In 2017, hundreds of cats and dogs were put to sleep and taken to our county landfill. These animals were either turned in by their owners or were found as homeless strays. Many were healthy and adoptable.

Since our formation, we have been able to substantially decrease the number of cat and dog euthanasias by providing Kerr County Animal Services and Kerr County Pet Owners resources to save lives.
